Directions to the Garden :
heading East on Highway 1 take the VEDDER ROAD EXIT (next exit past Lickman Road) the one where the Cottonwood Mall is.. ***follow Vedder Road (you will cross Luckakuck Road by the mall – carry on a few miles) to the bridge (3 way stop sign) Chilliwack Lake Road, turn left and follow about 7.5 KM it is the 2nd street on the right just past the ‘Pointa Vista Cafe’... the road is Sheldon Road.. follow it around and you will see rocks on the ground that say Garden of Tears -48942 Sheldon Road. ***If coming west on Highway #1 take Vedder Road Exit - cross over highway #1 and carry on as above..

RETREAT

This is a time when we abandon the way of the 'get over it' world. A time for sharing and rejoicing and yes a time for tears.

We will have a campfire every night another chance to share.

Camping on the grounds (free) or motel accommodations (you pay). Just let us know so we can plan. If you need tents, please give us enough time to borrow some for you (with sleeping bags of course)
showers and laundry can be taken in house...just so you all know there are facilities available at no charge!!!

Children of all ages welcome

There is NO charge for this week event – other than pitching in for the food that will be purchased if staying for the week.

The plaques are 4" long by 3" high ..they are the satin finish with Victoria lettering..darkened

Allow writing only that will fit on those dimensions

The price per plaque with engraving is $15.00 per plaque $17.18 including taxes

Email them your order, set up payment with them and when they complete the
plaque(once payment is received), we will pick it up and mount it to the wall...or, when you arrive
for the retreat you can do it yourself.

Once the plaque is mounted, we will be glad to email a picture of it to you.
Be sure and notify us that you have placed an order!!!

The official unveiling of the wall will be on the 21st day of August. We will also be doing a balloon release this day.

We do hope as many of you can come will do so. Even to just drop by for a day visit.

On the 27th of June a retreat is planned for one week, ending the 6th day of July. People are coming from the US and across Canada to be here..

God willing. During this period of time. The Garden of Tears will be opened. It is an International Memorial Garden where all of the names of loved ones will be painted on rocks and put in and around the garden as a tribute to
their lives. This garden is not restricted to immediate family members. You may have had a dear friend\ relative die you wish to have remembered.
One section of the garden is being set aside and called the Garden of Hope.
This section will contain the names of missing persons with the hope that one day they will be brought safely home.
There will be memory books to accompany all of the names in the garden. This way people can read and recognize each person as they pass through the garden.
For now we need Full name of deceased and dates
Your name and relationship to them
Siblings names if applicable ( sometimes there will be more then one rock
per person because of family members)
Please write a story about your loved one..and include a photograph so that a face will go with the name and story and make that person real to the reader.
At this point in time ..we have over 400 names from New Zealand, Australia, England, Scotland, Israel, USA and so on that have been submitted...and most of their stories are being snail mailed because they wish to have real photos. However, you certainly may have a computer copy or other.

We have a new section we are planning and it will be dedicated to the missing.. The story does not have to say anything you don't wish it to say.
This is YOUR precious loved one..you tell what you wish others to know. The section for the missing will be called Garden of Hope. Because hope of safe return is always there.
The retreat dates are June 27th to July 6th. We will be doing the balloon release on the 5th of July.The time for this has not yet been determined. At the campfire on the 5th...every name will be read out loud so that none be
forgotten. My heart is with all who are still awaiting news of their loved ones. I know the pain and uncertainty of not knowing what happened.
